Since its founding in 1903, the Philadelphia Chapter of the Alliance Française has encouraged the study of the French language and literature, promoted French culture and fostered friendly relations between France and the United States with a uniquely Philadelphia touch, style and tradition. You can find further information on our language classes in our
newsletter.
The Alliance Française school has two campuses (Center City Philadelphia and Bryn Mawr College), a faculty of more than twenty and a yearly registration of 1500 students. The school offers a wide variety of courses designed to meet the needs of all students, from complete beginners to those who are fluent in French and want to further their conversational and/or grammatical skills as well as their knowledge of French civilization and culture.

Summer Session of French Classes
The
Spring/Summer Session in Bryn Mawr has begun. It's not too late, call our offices today to find out what your options are.
The Summer Session in Center City will begin the week of June 4. Registration will be held on Thursdays and Friday, May 31 and June 1 from 12:00 - 2:00 pm and also on Saturday, June 2 from 12:00 - 3:00 pm.
If you are a complete beginner or have already taken classes with us you do not need to come to registration. If you have had French before but never with us, you will need to take a placement test during registration (15 min). If you cannot make the scheduled registration period, please call our office to discuss other options (

There is no registration fee for this event. You pay Liberté at the Sofitel directly for that which you consume.

Lynn H. Miller is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Temple University, author or co-author of several books on international politics, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Alliance Française de Philadelphie.
The late Annette H. Emgarth, who for many years led fascinated tourists through Philadelphia, was honored by the French Government with the Palmes Académiques and Officier d'Instruction Publique awards.
